What Drives the Price

Six factors dominate tree service pricing in our region. Tree size is the obvious one — a 90-foot tulip poplar takes far more crew time, more equipment, and more rigging than a 30-foot dogwood. Species matters too. Hardwoods like white oak and hickory are dense and slow to cut; pines and silver maples are softer and faster but produce more debris by volume.

Access is often the biggest swing factor. A tree at the back of a fenced Hixson lot with no equipment access can cost twice as much as the same tree at a driveway edge. Proximity to structures and power lines determines whether we can fell the tree intact, must rig it down piece by piece, or need a crane. Crane work adds $1,500 to $3,500 on top of removal pricing.

Debris handling is the last major variable. Standard pricing includes chipping brush, hauling chips, cutting wood to your preferred length, and raking the lawn. If you want the wood removed, that is included; if you want it split or stacked, that is an add-on.

Pricing by Service

Tree Removal

Most residential removals run $550 to $2,800. Small ornamentals start around $250. Crane-assisted removals of large hazardous trees can reach $5,500. See our detailed tree removal cost guide for a size-by-size breakdown.

Tree Trimming & Pruning

Structural pruning of a mature yard tree typically runs $300 to $1,500 depending on size and the scope of crown work. Annual maintenance on a typical yard with 5 to 8 mature trees averages $800 to $2,200.

Stump Grinding

$120 to $450 per stump depending on diameter. Volume discounts on 3 or more stumps the same day. Chip removal optional.

Emergency / Storm Response

Standard removal pricing applies, with after-hours and weekend dispatch carrying a modest emergency premium. We never gouge on storms — neighbors talk.

Land Clearing

Per-acre pricing varies widely with terrain and density. Typical range is $1,500 to $5,000 per acre for residential lot clearing. Free assessment for any clearing project.

Tree Health Assessment

Free for any property in our service area. Written report with recommendations available for $250 if needed for insurance, real estate transactions, or HOA disputes.

Pricing FAQs

Pricing is based on tree height and trunk diameter, species and wood density, proximity to structures and power lines, equipment access, debris handling, and whether a crane is required. A 60-foot tulip poplar in an open backyard is dramatically different from a 60-foot oak between a house and a pool.
